Description

This study is a randomised controlled trial of Dietary Guidelines to prevent cardiovascular disease compared with a traditional UK diet. It was conducted in healthy non-smoking men and women aged 40-70. A total of 162 participants completed the 12 week dietary intervention. There were improvements in blood pressure measured by 24h ambulatory mounting and in lipid related cardiovascular risk factors. The study provides and evidence base for current UK dietary guidelines. The study is in the process of being published.
