The duties of the Dementia Advocates will centre around engaging and building trust in the local BME community, promoting awareness and understanding of dementia and the dementia services, and some activity on a more individual level such as facilitating help seeking from GPs, helping people and their families understand and cope with the condition, and signposting to other services.
