Abstract

The synthesis of the compound, {(C₆H₈N)[AgI ₂]}_n was discussed. The compound was prepared by the synthesis of a silver complex in the presence of N,N'-diphenyl-amidine contaminated with potassium iodide. The complex was prepared from anilinium iodide and silver iodide. It was observed that the degree of polymerization of the anions in the compound depended on the bulk of the cation.
