Abstract

Comments on AA v Persons Unknown (Comm) on whether Bitcoins were property for the purpose of an interim application for a proprietary injunction relating to the ransom paid in connection with a cyber attack. Reviews the discussion of Bitcoin as property by the UK Jurisdictional Taskforce's Legal Statement on Cryptoassets and Smart Contracts, endorsed in the judgment, including the classification of property, and remaining questions.
