Abstract

Multi-carrier systems (e.g., OFDM, MC-CDMA) have received much attention for their ability to increase the bandwidth efficiency. On the other hand, the multiple transmit and receive antenna transmissions over multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels, have been proved effective in combating fading and enhancing the data rate. As a result, the MIMO multi-carrier code division multiple assess (MC-CDMA) systems have been considered as a promising technique for future wireless communications. Similar to OFDM systems, MC-CDMA systems also suffer from the carrier frequency offset (CFO) problem, which will impair the performance of the system. There are many methods to estimate the CFO in OFDM systems. In this paper, we propose an offset estimation method with low complexity for a MIMO MC-CDMA system. We have shown that the performance of the proposed method is quite good, while the computational cost is low.
