Abstract

Human capital analytics (HCA) is predominantly discussed in the context of large and complex organizations, leaving small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs) mistakenly think of it as a capability suitable only for large firms. We discuss this misconception and then explain the relevance of HCA for SMEs. We then provide guidelines and examples of how SMEs can capitalize on HCA to drive value creation and, ultimately, build a competitive advantage.
