Abstract

People with type 2 diabetes (T2D) experience diabetes distress which can negatively affect their physical and mental health outcomes. Mindfulness can help address this problem. A virtual reality (VR) app for mindfulness was co-designed with people with T2D via a commercial app review, interviews with mindfulness experts, a series of co-design workshops, and VR app development with user testing. Future research will test the efficacy of the VR app in improving T2D outcomes.
