Cole Porter's List Songs on Stage and Screen

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Examines the ways in which Porter's list songs were adapted from film to stage, proposing that list songs represent a literary genre as much as a musical one and, as such, require changes - chiefly shortening and the adding of dances - to accommodate the demands of film narrative.
