Abstract

This chapter examines the digital mediation of contested memory through a series of digital initiatives for studying the Spanish Civil War and other historical events with conflicting narratives. It examines how memory dynamics function in digital infrastructure through new architectures, interfaces, forms of social connection and dynamics of knowledge production and proposes an integrated approach to digital memory studies bringing together historians, archivists and other memory researchers.
