Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) has been increasingly recognised as a critical factor in enhancing resilience among healthcare professionals, particularly nurses working in high-stress environments such as geriatric care. This study explores the predictive role of EI in building resilience, preventing burnout, and improving job satisfaction among geriatric nurses. The research adopts a cross-sectional design involving nurses from multiple geriatric care facilities. Emotional intelligence was measured using validated psychometric tools, and its relationship with resilience was analysed using statistical models. The results reveal a significant positive correlation between higher levels of EI and resilience, suggesting that emotional intelligence training could be a viable strategy to strengthen nurses' coping mechanisms. This presentation will discuss the theoretical foundations of EI, the research methodology, and practical applications of EI training in nursing education and practice.
