Abstract

In this paper we propose a cognitive radio scheme for full duplex (FD) device to device (D2D) communication between two vehicles in a vehicular network. The vehicles in proximity establish their connection over the unoccupied cellular network channels in a FD manner, and leave the channel as soon as they are informed of the presence of an incumbent, through error detection method. Channel sensing and identification is done in a cooperative manner prior to transmission. Probabilities of detection and false alarm, as well as the throughput of FD D2D communication in the proposed scheme have been formulated and performance of the proposed scheme and validity of corresponding analysis are verified via simulations.
