Abstract
Research into the interplay between genotype and the environment reveals both genotype–environment interaction and genotype–environment correlation. Quantitative genetics provides little evidence of the former but much evidence of the latter. Incorporating molecular genetic techniques to measure the effects of specific genes as well as specific environments is greatly increasing our ability to detect interaction effects and will also be important for understanding correlation effects.
