Abstract

Maintaining optimal hydration and nutrition in older adults is crucial for preventing a range of health complications, including cognitive decline and frailty. This study explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in monitoring hydration and nutritional intake among older adults. AI systems are employed to detect early signs of dehydration and malnutrition through continuous monitoring of patient data, including vital signs, dietary habits, and physical activity levels. The integration of AI technologies allows for timely interventions, improving overall health outcomes. The poster presents a case study of older adults in a long-term care facility where AI-driven monitoring systems were used, demonstrating improved patient outcomes. The findings suggest that AI can play a vital role in promoting better hydration and nutrition management, ultimately reducing the risk of hospitalisation.
