Abstract

Freedman is clearly a figure of significant distinction; one who has had real world influence, yet whose theoretical depth and development has been largely overlooked. This raises the question of whether there is anything distinctive in Freedman’s approach, a way of working, a methodology, or even the roots of a school of thought. The prospect in this study is that a distinctive approach and elements of a school of thought can be identified.
