L’Événement Anthropocène: La Terre, l’histoire et nous

Translated title of the contribution: The Anthropocene event: Earth, history and us

Jean-Baptiste Fressoz, Christophe Bonneuil

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Earth system scientists tell us that the Earth has entered into a new geological epoch, the Anthropocene. It will last for tens of millennia at least and was triggered in two centuries only with the industrial revolution powered by burning fossil fuels. This book aims at rethinking time and historicity when historical time has merged with the deep time of the Earth. It proposes different stories for the Anthropocene, aiming at rethinking the history of energy, of war and environment, of consumption, of environmental reflexivity and conflicts.
