    Abstract

    Chronic respiratory morbidity is a common adverse outcome of premature birth, particularly in infants who develop bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). Unfortunately, BPD occurs frequently in infants born very prematurely, affecting in one series [1] more than 40% of infants born prior to 29 weeks of gestation.
