Abstract

This paper looks at the media coverage of the 2008 Mumbai attacks with
a specific focus on situating Strategic Communication against the background of
the transforming news media industry. It looks at news media using examples of
‘new media’ and communication via the internet on platforms such as Twitter,
examining the changes speed of communication, timing, quality of information and
audience awareness.
