'Mi Minde is Mukul', the 102nd Gawainian Wheel

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Confirms James Staples's observation that the two lines inscribed on for 125v of Cotton Nero A.x are a wheel, identical in form with those in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; surveys the possibilities that it might be authorial (possible but unlikely), scribal (possible, perfectly plausible), or an inscription by a very early reader, before the illustrations had been added (also quite possible).
