Abstract

Multi-connectivity lies among the most promising techniques to meet the future requirements of 5G mobile networks on data rate and reliability. In this paper we present a novel framework for multi-connectivity by proposing three multi-connectivity approaches and discussing the required functionalities to be embedded in the next generation of mobile networks architecture.
