Abstract
Scholars have long recognized the importance of norms for promoting peace. Yet there are significant gaps in existing scholarship on the complex and multidimensional relationships between norms and peace. This article offers a framework for analyzing these relationships and outlines how the contributions to this Special Issue enable us to gain a better understanding of them. By doing so, we aim to contribute towards systematizing and synthesizing research on norm contestation, diffusion, localization, and implementation in the context of peacebuilding.
