Abstract

Repair of calvarial defects offers a particular challenge for reconstruction. The use of computer-assisted design (CAD) pre-fabrication of customised titanium cranioplasty plates for calvarial reconstruction provides an accurate and predictable method for reconstruction to ensure an anatomical and aesthetically pleasing outcome. A total of 50 patients with calvarial defects were repaired using CAD customised titanium cranioplasty plates in our Unit via a cranioplasty protocol established in 2001.
