Abstract
This volume is an outcome of a collaborative research project by Lokniti and King’s India Institute, London on ‘comparative state politics and public policy in India’ (2011-2014). The project was supported by the ‘British Academy International Partnership Grant’. The book includes seven studies across eleven Indian states that present comparative analyses of the emergent politics of welfare across Indian states.
Along with Rajeshwari and Kailash the other Lokniti colleagues who participated in the project and have contributed chapters in the book include, Divya Vaid, Anupama Saxena, Yatindra Singh Sisodia and Rajesh Dev.
