Abstract

Simultaneous staging of fibrosis and inflammation is crucial for liver disease patient management. Both parameters are equally important in other diseases, in particular in the cardiovascular domain. We show that MR-Elastography is capable to predict this Hepatic Activation indices (HAI-index) for both, fibrosis and inflammation, from the non-invasive quantification of liver tissue biomechanics. Those data have motivated a major MRI constructor to embark on our technology and translation of hardware and software into a novel product is on its way.
