Abstract
In his imaginative and resourceful, but also somewhat straightjacketed study 'Publikum und Redner: Ihre Interaktion in der sophistischen Rhetorik der Kaiserzeit', Martin Korenjak sets out to discuss the evidence for interaction between speaker and audience in the sophistic rhetoric of the imperial period. The results are uneven, with some repetition of well-known material and some strained arguments, but more than enough that is new and well said to justify the book's existence.
