Abstract

The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Ben Jonson presents a complete reappraisal of this major Renaissance writer. It includes all Jonson’s plays, poems, masques, entertainments, prose works, and letters, together with the Informations to William Drummond, an account of the lost works, and introductory essays on his career and writings. All the texts appear in modern spelling and in chronological sequence of performance or publication. They are re-edited on the basis of a comprehensive survey of the manuscripts and early editions, and have full commentary, collation, and illustrations.
