Abstract

This study examines the role of big data analytics capability in enhancing decision- making capability in government organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It uses resource-based view theory to investigate the mediation of the cognitive style of decision-makers and organizational culture in the relationship of big data analytics and decision-making capabilities. The study contributes to the literature by specifying the relationship between big data analytics and decision-making in the government sector from the cognitive style and organizational culture perspectives. It also investigates the role of decision-making in enhancing organizational performance. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS–SEM) is used to test the hypotheses. The results empirically validate the proposed theoretical framework and confirm that big data analytics capability has a positive impact on decision-making capability via cognitive style and organizational culture in the government sector.
