Abstract
This text analyses the role of culture, in particular the role of museums and cultural institutions when it comes to AI. It discusses in what ways debates about decolonising the archive and museums could contribute to decolonizing machine learning and their datasets, influencing the way AI systems are trained and developed. It also evaluates the role of cultural institutions to educate the public about AI, allowing them to interact with and understand AI technologies beyond their role as mere users.
