Abstract

In the first issue of the Social Care Workforce Periodical NMDS-SC establishment files (released May 2009) are used to examine the current volume of staff working in different job roles in different sectors. The analysis also examines vacancy rates and turnover rates by job role and sector. Net-flow rates are calculated and compared between different job roles and types of establishments.

These combined statistics allow for better understanding of the flow and movement of workers in relation to specific job roles working in different types of establishments, taking into account the gain of new recruits as well as loss of existing staff during the past 12 months.
