Abstract
This article intends to explore the possibilities of dance body capital in the context of the city of Bogotá to generate development, understood in wide terms, and to propel beneficial transformations for groups in conditions of deprivation. In order to do that, the general scope of industries linked to the arts and non-utilitarian goods and services is presented together with the ways in which they are strongly influenced by symbolic values and local exclusive forms of richness. Subsequently, the relation between art and development is analyzed in order to expose affinities which elucidate the potential of dance to generate transformations. Lastly, the possibilities of dance in a city such as Bogotá are explored together with its importance as a cluster of innovation and research for this creative industry whose potential has only been explored on the surface.
