Ventilatory Response to Hypercarbia in Newborns of Smoking and Substance Misusing Mothers

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The ventilatory response of infants of substance misusing (SM) and smoking (S) mothers and controls to carbon dioxide was assessed at 6-12 weeks and the perinatal period. Infants of S mothers and SM mothers had a dampened response at the SIDS’ peak age, greater than in the perinatal period.
